How TMJ Leads to Face and Neck Tension

Saturday, September 26, 2026 · 9:00 AM PDT · 60 minutes, live

You wake with a tight jaw and no memory of clenching. By afternoon it has climbed — temples, behind the eyes, down the side of the neck and into the shoulder.

That isn’t a jaw problem. The masseter and temporalis are woven into the same fascial sling as the suboccipitals and the deep front of the neck. When the jaw braces, everything above and below it braces with it.

This month’s Mindful Movemend Live Class is a 60-minute somatic immersion into the temporomandibular joint and the tissue around it: masseter, temporalis, pterygoids, the floor of the mouth, the suboccipitals, the throat. We’ll unwind the clench, restore glide through the joint, and leave you with a short daily practice that takes two minutes.

Come as you are. Your body will know what to do.

This class is somatic movement education, not treatment for a medical or dental condition. It works alongside professional care, not in place of it.

How TMJ Leads to Face and Neck Tension

Join us live Saturday, September 26, 2026 · 9:00 AM PDT for a session on the jaw and everything it pulls on. The masseter and temporalis share a fascial sling with the suboccipitals and the deep front of the neck — so a clenched jaw doesn't stay in the jaw. It climbs into the temples, behind the eyes, and down into the shoulder. We'll work the temporomandibular joint and the tissue around it, restore glide, and leave you with a two-minute daily practice.
